The Goals view is the heart of DPlan's Project Value Intelligence. It computes a live Project Value Score (PVS) across four performance domains — Schedule, Cost, Quality, and Output — and tracks your Business Objectives against real execution data.
The Value Score is a weighted average of four domain scores, each computed from your project data:
| Domain | Icon | What it measures | Key input |
|---|---|---|---|
| Schedule | ⏱ | Are tasks finishing on time? | SPI (Schedule Performance Index) from EVM |
| Cost | 💰 | Is the project within budget? | CPI (Cost Performance Index) and cost variance |
| Quality | ✅ | Is the work meeting standards? | Blocker count, open risks, defect-flagged issues |
| Output | 📦 | Is the project delivering results? | Task completion %, milestone hit rate |
Each domain has a configurable weight (all four must sum to 100%). DPlan includes industry presets that set sensible defaults:
| Preset | Schedule | Cost | Quality | Output |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Balanced (default) | 25% | 25% | 25% | 25% |
| Construction | 30% | 40% | 20% | 10% |
| Software | 20% | 20% | 40% | 20% |
| Marketing | 20% | 30% | 15% | 35% |
| Research | 15% | 20% | 45% | 20% |
You can adjust weights manually using the sliders in the Goals settings.
Each domain and the overall Value Score show a RAG (Red / Amber / Green) indicator:
Beyond the four execution domains, DPlan tracks Business Objectives — the real-world outcomes your project is meant to achieve. When business outcomes are defined, DPlan computes a Business Value Score (BVS):
BVS = (Project Value Score × 0.40) + (Business Outcome Score × 0.60)
This means execution matters, but business results matter more.
